Boys and Girls Club kids show off guitar skills at Pump House concert

A guitar concert marks the end of the fourth year for the Boys and Girls Club’s first music program.

More than 20 kids from the La Crosse Club, along with 15 instructors, showed off their guitar skills Wednesday evening with a concert at the Pump House. The night showcased each kids’ progress over the last couple of months, along with their passion for music.

“If I didn’t have this program I wouldn’t be in a bunch of musics like I am, like choir, orchestra and band. This program really put me in front for music,” said Guitar Academy student Sterling Meyer.

The Boys and Girls Club’s Guitar Academy was its first Fine Arts program. The Academy enters its fifth year this spring.

The Club’s Fine Arts programs have since expanded to include vocals, strings, theater and dance.
