Boeing 787 Dreamliner to appear at EAA convention
OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — The next generation of commercial airliners will be making an appearance at this year’s Experimental Aircraft Association’s convention in Oshkosh.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is the first mid-size plane capable of flying long-range routes, which enables airlines to open new, non-stop routes.
Composite materials, more-electric systems, advanced aerodynamics and modern engines were used to make the 787 more fuel efficient and provide lower operating costs.
The Dreamliner will visit the annual AirVenture convention on July 29. The convention runs July 25 through July 31.
EAA and AirVenture chairman Tom Poberezny says it’s the first time aviation enthusiasts can tour the 787 and the first public showcase of the 787 in North America.
