The search continues for a missing 23-year-old man from La Crosse who was last seen in the Wisconsin Dells area early Sunday morning.

On Tuesday, members of the City’s police and fire departments searched areas near the Wisconsin River and a wooded ravine one block adjacent to John W. Dwyer’s last known location at Nig’s Bar.

Wisconsin Dells Police Chief Jordy Ward said Dwyer was last seen by a friend around 2 a.m. on Sunday near the rear entrance of Nig’s Bar.

Dwyer’s family reported him missing around Sunday afternoon. They said he was in the Dells Saturday afternoon to celebrate several birthdays but did not return home, according to a news release.

Chief Ward said a friend had asked if Dwyer needed a ride and he refused. The friend told police John did not seem to be in any condition that would not allow him to take care of himself. Police said there is no indication of foul play.

Dwyer is about 6 feet tall, weighs 150 pounds and has red hair. He was last seen wearing a green flannel shirt, jeans and an Oregon Ducks baseball hat.

Officials ask anyone with information on Dwyer’s whereabouts to call the Wisconsin Dells Police Department at 608-253-1611.
