Board of Park Commissioners approve Municipal Boat Harbor designs
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Improvements to the marina at La Crosse’s Municipal Boat Harbor are one step closer to becoming a reality.
The city’s Board of Park Commissioners approved designs for the new docks Wednesday night.
City park officials say there won’t be much difference between the slip counts of the old marina design and the new design. They also say the new design will open things up for boaters, making for a much-improved experience.
“At the end of the day, we really just wanted to have something that we can be proud of, the boating community can be proud of, and it was something that really the citizens of La Crosse can be proud of,” said Parks, Recreation and Forestry Superintendent Jay Odegaard.
Odegaard says more design work still needs to be done when it comes to utilities and parking at the marina, but they still hope to be done in time for boating season.
