Black Student Leaders, LIT come together for group public art project in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A group of area students have come together to design and create a traveling public art project, which will be on display this weekend in downtown La Crosse.
Black Student Leaders and Leaders Igniting Transformation have collaborated with local artist Breckin Sargeant to bring to life their vision for a public part piece. The painting will be created from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Larson’s General on Main Street in downtown La Crosse, where it will stay for about a month. The piece will then be displayed at the La Crosse Public Library Main Branch, People’s Food Co-op and River City Gallery.
“This project has been in the planning stages since last fall and we are excited to bring this type of collaborative project to the City of La Crosse,” said the group in a statement.
The project is being funded by the Beer by Bike Brigade.
