Black River Falls combines youth and experienced players to earn state run

For Black River Falls, waiting out the 2020 season was near impossible.

Only a few returning players were back on the squad for the 2021 season, but the new additions adapted.

Freshmen Evan Anderson and Wyatt Madvig are both headed to state showing some great play at the 3 and 4 positions.

Combine that with the work returners Caden Skelding and Mikey Antonelli have done and this team is a perfect combination of talented young players, and experienced top players making each other better,

“I think they’re naturals for the most part. Some things like the out of bounds rules that were kind of new this year we had to tell them about, but they just killed it this year and I’m so proud of them,” said Skelidng.

“This has been one of the tightest knit groups I’ve had they have fun but they pick each other up and they never get down. If they’re shooting not the greatest they’re always picking each other up, they’ve just taken on a great leadership role and I cant thank them enough for how much they’ve done to make this team compete as much as we’ve had and to just have fun,” said Head Coach Scott Tubbs.
