Big Muddy Run scheduled for Oct. 4
Event to benefit Children's Museum of La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The 5th annual Big Muddy Run is scheduled for Saturday, October 4 at La Crosse’s Myrick Park.
Participants can choose a 5K or 1-mile route. Racers will find eight mud pits, a giant slip and slide, and a foam machine as obstacles. The event is open to runners age 7 and up.
The 1-mile run will start at 10:45. The 5K will start at 11:30. To register and for more information, visit www.bigmuddyrun.org.
The event benefits the Children’s Museum of La Crosse. So far it has raised about $100,000 and organizers are hoping for another $25,000.
“That’s enough to renovate one or two exhibit areas. It’s a lot of money. So for us it’s huge and this year we’re debating, but I think some of the money will go to our toddler area, which we haven’t redone in maybe 9 or 10 years,” said Children’s Museum Director Anne Snow.
