Onalaska’s Big Band Ball making its return
The kids and their families are excited things are starting to return to normal
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – Many high school programs took a huge blow with the pandemic this last year, now one local school is looking for a comeback. Last year the Onalaska Big Band Ball was canceled due to health guidelines during the pandemic.
This year, with a guest appearance from West Salem High school’s jazz program, the event is returning. The Onalaska band booster Organization hosts the event to raise money for the band with an online auction.
The kids and their families are excited things are starting to return to normal.
“They’re pumped to be able to perform and to polish things and really show what they’ve worked on this year. And just excited, it’s not about just raising the money, it’s not about seeing the other groups, it’s about jazz and just giving students an opportunity to perform and do what they love to do,” said Robert Coe, a Band Director at Onalaska High School.
The online auction begins Sunday and will go through next Saturday at 8 p.m.
