Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival draws thousands

Thousands of people took advantage of the sunny weather Saturday to enjoy a La Crosse festival tradition.

The 15th annual Between the Bluffs Beer, Wine and Cheese Festival featured over 100 vendors, live music and games on the Southside Oktoberfest Grounds.

Explore La Crosse puts on the event, and director of sports and events, Jeremiah Burish, said it’s grown from about 400 attendees when it began in 2003 to about 3,500 this year.

Burish said La Crosse is the perfect place for the festival.

“There’s several breweries that started here. The craft brew scene is strong in La Crosse,” he said. “It’s a great place to come and visit and collaborate all those things right into one location, so it works great.”

Fifteen dollars will buy a ticket to Sunday’s Bacon Bloody Brunch, which runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oktoberfest grounds
