LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Milwaukee Brewers mascot Bernie Brewer visited La Crosse on Thursday.
He spent part of his afternoon visiting with patients Gundersen Health System and Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare.
From 4:30-7 p.m. Bernie Brewer will make an appearance at the Moose Lodge Family Center, 1932 Ward Avenue in La Crosse. He’s promoting La Crosse Area Day at Miller Park and a fundraising competition for a local non-profit to throw out the first pitch.
Tickets to the Thursday evening event are $5 each and include a baseball themed meal.
The charity that receives the most donations by April 5 will be awarded the honor of throwing out the first pitch at Miller Park on June 25, 2015 as the Brewers take on the New York Mets.
You can still vote by donating to your charity of choice. All funds raised will stay with the respective organization being supported, regardless of the competition’s outcome.
