Beekeepers meet from across the region

Dozens of Beekeepers from the region came together Saturday to discuss beekeeping practices.

On Saturday afternoon at the annual Beekeepers meeting at the Myrick Park Center hosted by the Wisconsin Honey Producers Association and the La Crosse Area Beekeepers.

The meeting Saturday included topics like healthier beekeeping, treatment of bee colonies and how to start beekeeping. While the event was available for all experience levels, organizers say today was mainly centered around beginner beekeepers.

According to organizers, beekeeping is popular throughout the midwest.

“La Crosse has a very thriving beekeeping community. Today we have about 60 people here. The La Crosse area beekeepers also has a pretty thriving membership,” district chair Tony Bowers said.
