Bangor Baseball advances to State title game

With their backs against the wall, Bangor Baseball unleashed a huge offensive surge in the top of the seventh to come back and eventually beat Columbus Catholic 9-8 in Wednesday’s WIAA D4 State semifinal at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.

The Dons took a 3-2 lead after an RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth. Bangor responded by producing seven runs to lead 9-3.

The Dons scored five in the bottom of the seventh to trail by just one with two outs and the tying run on third. The ensuing batter sent a line drive to right field but sophomore Samuel Cropp made a diving catch to win the game.
