Bandshell benefit planned in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse’s music community comes together to help raise money to improve a local music venue.
Moon Tunes La Crosse and Great River Folk Festival are teaming up to present two days of local music to raise money for a proposed bandshell over the existing band stand in Riverside Park.
Moon Tunes staff say the concert is another step towards making the bandshell reality.
“We’re over half way to our funding amount needed. The park board had approved in December the selling of pavers in the park and that will push us over the top funding that we need for the bandshell,” said Terry Bauer with Moon Tunes.
The fundraiser will take place this Friday and Saturday at the Cavalier Theater on 5th Avenue in La Crosse.
There is no over charge for the shows, but donations are being accepted.
The first $10,000 in donations will be matched as well.
