Band shell construction work continues in La Crosse’s Riverside Park
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Band shell project in Riverside Park reaches a new stage in the construction process.
The rafters are going up on the shell structure over the existing bandstand.
The placement of the rafters will likely be completed by the end of the week.
For those that helped support the process, seeing the structure take shape is exciting.
“What’s behind us right here will be there for 50 plus years and it’s a really cool thing that the community has stepped up and helped fund this whole project,” said Dave Clements, Band Shell Consortium co-chair.
Once it is completed, the construction process will pause for the winter months and ahead of rotary lights will open in just under a month.
Next spring, the roof and other parts will be put in place.
