Badger Coulee Transmission line construction underway
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — You may notice some power line construction as you travel through our area.
This summer’s construction on the 180 mile long Badger Coulee Line includes foundation construction, followed by pole and wire installation.
The Line will connect the Briggs Road Substation in Holmen to northern Dane County.
The project aims to bring cheaper and renewable energy to La Crosse area residents.
“Some of this activity is going along Highway 53. That’s a high-traffic area, and we are encouraging people to drive safely, keep their focus on the road, and make sure that they’re not stopping to watch construction activities,” said Kaya Freiman, Spokesperson for American Transmission Company.
The Line being developed by the American Transmission Company and Xcel Energy began in 2016 and is expected to wrap up by the end of this year.
