Back to School programs go digital

Two local back to school programs for kids are stepping into the digital age.

Each year, the Salvation Army and the non-profit Catholic Charities work together to collect backpacks and other school supplies for kids.

This year, both programs are giving families the chance to register for the programs online.

And with so many kids in need, the website gives both agencies a chance to help students start the year off on the right foot.

“The Stepping Back to School program provides a new shirt, a new pair of pants, a new pair of shoes for each child that registers and then Catholic Charities is taking care of the backpacks and school supplies. So it’s a great partnership that we have between our two agencies to work together to provide these needs for kids,” said the Salvation Army’s Julie Nelson.

Registration begins July 13th and continues until July 30th. You can register at the website: www.cclse.org.
