Authorities probe incident in which man died, woman was injured in Jackson County
BROCKWAY, Wis. (WKBT) – Law enforcement agencies are investigating the death of a man and injuries to a woman in the Town of Brockway Thursday night.
The Jackson County Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call at nearly 10:30 p.m. reporting that a man required emergency medical treatment in the 200 block of Park Avenue.
Upon arrival, Jackson County deputies began lifesaving measures until the Black River Falls Emergency Medical Services arrived a short time later. Other deputies who were trying to determine the cause of the man’s injuries discovered that a woman also needed emergency medical treatment.
The man was airlifted to Marshfield Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later. An ambulance took the woman to Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.
Portions of the surrounding residential streets remained closed off Friday to preserve the scene, authorities said.
Assisting in the investigation are the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigations, the Department of Justice State Crime Lab, and the Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Recon Group. Authorities declined to release additional information.
