Authorities arrest Milwaukee man for possession, intent to deliver heroin in West Salem
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) — Authorities in West Salem arrested a Milwaukee man for possession with intent to deliver heroin. The West Salem Police Department said the drug was being delivered to the area.
On April 16, as part of an ongoing investigation, police officers arrested Joel Highshaw, 26, on the 400 block of West Elm Street in West Salem. Highshaw was arrested for possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of THC.
Authorities recovered nine grams of heroin, which has an estimated street value of $900. That amounts to 90 individual doses of heroin, according to the press release.
Highshaw was booked on a for possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of THC, failure to appear warrant and a child support warrant.
Police also arrested Dalandis Kemp, 26 of West Allis, for an out of county warrant. he was transported and releases to the La Crosse County Jail.
A third party was detained but later released without charges.
The West Salem Police Department was assisted by the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department, West Central Metropolitan Enforcement Group and Campbell Police Department K9 Unit.
The case remains under investigation and there may be additional charges and arrests.
