Attempted homicide suspect sentenced in La Crosse
Cordero Short sentenced to 10 yrs in prison, 8 yrs extended supervision
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Chicago man charged with attempting to kill a woman in La Crosse last summer will spend time in prison.
A La Crosse County judge sentenced 23-year-old Cordero Short to ten years of prison time and eight years of extended supervision. Short reached a plea deal for a lesser sentence back in October.
According to the police report, Short was in La Crosse to shoot a man on June 13, 2013, but his gun jammed on him. By the time he fixed it and pulled the trigger, a 24-year old woman walked into the bullet’s path. She survived.
