‘Ash, Splash and Dash’ helps community members in Onalaska participate in Ash Wednesday
Event held at Onalaska United Methodist Church
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – Busy community members take part in Ash Wednesday had a special way at participate.
Onalaska United Methodist Church held an ‘Ash, Splash and Dash’ event Wednesday morning.
The event allowed community members to participate in Ash Wednesday prayer and receive the sign of ashes on their forehead.
They could even get a splash of coffee.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a time of reflection for Christians.
While the church had regular services Wednesday evening, the morning event helps community members to incorporate church into their lives.
“Not everybody can take the time for those and some people want to begin the morning of Ash Wednesday with prayer and reflection,” said Onalaska United Methodist Church pastor Park Hunter.
Lent leads up to Easter on April 12th.
