Area woman collects more than 50 Christmas trees

She keeps her collection in her apartment

An area woman is keeping the holiday spirit alive with her love for Christmas trees.

Judy Hall of Onalaska started collecting Christmas trees about three years ago. In that time her collection grew from about 20 trees to more than 50 this year.  The trees range from 1 inch to 7 feet tall, all of them kept in her and her husband’s one bedroom apartment.

When you have that many trees she says it’s hard to pick a favorite.

I love beautiful things and the rainbow tree is the most beautiful. When I saw it on the internet I had to have. They had it on a clearance sale and I bought immediately,” said Hall.

Although her decorations have become a holiday tradition, Judy says her love for Christmas trees isn’t necessarily shared by her husband.

“The truth is, he doesn’t really like all of it, but he puts up with it because he’s married to me, and 58 years and as a result he’s not the decorative type and I am,” said Hall.

Judy plans to keep the trees up until her new great grandchild comes and visits sometime in the spring.
