Area teen center celebrates 15 years in the community

The YMCA is celebrating 15 years engaging with teenagers and strengthening the community.

On Saturday community members visited the La Crosse YMCA Teen Center to recognize the important role it plays in our area.

The center provides a safe place for 8th trough 12th grade teens to go after school.

Teens can take part in a variety of things to do including cooking, arts and crafts, and recreational activities.

Since 2004 the center has been a community-driven place for teens to grow into adults.

“We’re here to engage with teens as teenagers, now, and help them be stronger members of the community now, which is also going to help them be stronger members of the community in the future,” said Lisa Luckey, Teen and Youth Services Director.
