Area Spanish students donate books to children in Nicaragua

Spanish students at Logan High School are making an impact on the global level.

The students are donating 28 handmade children’s books to Gundersen Health System’s ‘Global Partners’ program.

Volunteers in the program will deliver the books to kids in rural schools living in Nicaragua in June.

For students, the project bridges a gap between the two cultures.

“I love to imagine them reading my book,  and hopefully, seeing the smiles on their face when they see the pictures and everything. I just hope it can be something for them to enjoy” said senior  Evangalina Kapanke.

Global Partners volunteer teams have been traveling to Nicaragua since 2010.
