Area bike ride and military appreciation in Sparta
A donor paid for 120 day passes for those serving in our military and their families
SPARTA, Wis (WKBT) – If you thought today was a beautiful day for a bike ride, you were not alone.
The Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a community bike rike ride and military appreciation event today.
A donor paid for 120 day passes for those serving in our military and their families, for both active military and veterans.
The ride is partly along the Elroy-Sparta trail which recently became Wisconsin’s first national bicycle routes.
Along with the bike ride, the local farmers market made with live music made for a perfect end to the bike ride.
“Again, with everything going on to bring people out, to be outside and to experience Sparta in a new way, maybe in a way they never have before,” said Heidi Prestwood, the new Executive Director of the Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Sparta Kiwanis also hosted the event, and this is the first time this event has been put on for the community.
