ARCADIA, Wis. (WKBT) – Arcadia law enforcement arrested an Independence man in connection to an armed robbery at a local gas station Sunday afternoon. According to a news release, authorities took William Andre, 34, of Independence to the Trempealeau County Jail after a traffic stop by the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities responded to a panic alarm at Express Mart gas station on West Main Street in Arcadia just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Moments later a person called 911 saying a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black neck gator pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded money.

The clerk handed $100 to the man and the suspect fled the scene according to authorities. That’s when the Trempealeau County Sheriff caught up with the car and arrested Andre. The incident is no longer under investigation according to the Arcadia Police Department.
