April unemployment data for La Crosse County

MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) – There’s new data on unemployment in Wisconsin.

According to estimates from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment in The City of La Crosse went from 2.5% in March to 13.8%  in April.

At this time last year unemployment in La Crosse was 2.7%.

In March 77,600 people were employed within the La Crosse-Onalaska area.

That number dropped to 67,900 this month, a 9,700 decrease.

La Crosse County unemployment as a whole went from 2.7% in March to 13.1% this month.

These numbers are non-seasonally adjusted.
