Applefest 2020 highlights the ‘Apple Capital of Minnesota’

Many parts of the event looked very different than in previous years

LA CRESCENT, Minn (WKBT) – It took a lot of planning, but La Crescent’s Applefest was able to hold its annual parade today.

Many parts of the event looked very different than in previous years.

This year they had to forego the kiddie parade, the beer tent, and other close contact events that the public usually enjoys so much.

And making sure this event could continue in a safe and fun way took a lot of help from the community.

“All we can say is thank, thank you for letting us do this for the people that enjoy being out here. That enjoy having Applefest and the events. Like I said, there were quite a few people that stepped in to help us have some kind of normalcy this weekend. And we thank everybody very, very much,” said Bridget O’Connell, the president of Applefest 2020.

Also congratulations to this year’s Applefest Queen, Maddie Danielson.
