Another busy year expected for La Crosse Co. Clerk’s office

LA CROSSE, Wis.–  Thursday was  the first day candidates could start circulating nomination papers to get on the spring ballot in La Crosse county.

Every seat is up for re-election, but there are six fewer seats this year because of redistricting.

It’s been a busy year for the county clerk’s office with a state Supreme Court recount, primaries and special elections for two open Assembly seats and a state Senate recall.

It looks as if 2012 will be busy too.  ” We had a couple weeks off after the November election and we went right into this.  The potential for a recall in the summer, or in the spring.  So it could be another very interesting year for La Crosse County in elections,” says La Crosse Co. Clerk Ginny Dankmeyer.

The fall primary is also happening a month earlier next year in Wisconsin in August.
