Annual, unofficial Oktoberfest Kids Parade

More than 50 kids march in parade at UWL

One Oktoberfest-related parade actually happened earlier Thursday morning.

Kids marched around the UW-La Crosse campus for the annual Oktoberfest Kids Parade.

It’s an unofficial, but traditional event that’s been happening for about the past 30 years. You can see the 55 kids from the campus childcare center dressed in their handmade Oktoberfest attire alongside the UWL Screaming Eagles Marching Band.

“It’s just fun to do, and it’s become tradition. Can’t break with tradition,” said Campus Children Center Director Sue Wrobel.

After the parade the kids sang and danced with Crazy George and his accordion.
