Annual tornado safety drill a chance for people in Wisconsin, Minnesota to practice safety skills
Emergency sirens may sound in Wisconsin, Minnesota
WISCONSIN/MINNESOTA (WKBT) – Spring is the time to review weather safety.
Emergency management officials in Minnesota and Wisconsin are helping people practice the skills.
Those skills can be helpful if a tornado were touch down.
Thursday at 1:45 and 6:45 p.m. both states will hold their annual statewide tornado drill
Communities may sound their emergency sirens, but are not required to do so.
Officials encourage everyone to practice getting to shelter as you would need to in a real emergency.
The drill is part of Severe Weather Awareness Week in both states.
