Annual Police Appreciation Picnic held in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — People came together Thursday night to celebrate the hard work of the men and women in uniform who keep our communities safe.
The La Crosse Area Law Enforcement Chaplaincy held its annual Police Appreciation Picnic at Copeland Park in La Crosse.
The picnic is a way to say ‘thank you’ to area law enforcement.
At the event, both Onalaska and La Crosse mayors proclaimed Thursday as “Police Appreciation Day.”
“I’m always amazed at just how professional, how human our police officers are here in this area. And they do such a wonderful job, so it’s nice to be able to just spend a little bit of time and show them how much we really support them and care about them,” said Mayor Tim Kabat.
This is the 15th year for the appreciation picnic.
