Anniversary of effort to assist Wisconsin employment seekers

An effort pairing Wisconsinites with jobs is celebrating ten years.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker stopped by La Crosse’s Workforce Development Center Wednesday to celebrate the one decade anniversary of currently has more than 96,000 job openings and 35,000 resumes.

Walker says it’s another example of the state’s record low unemployment rate.

“That just shows yet again we have more job openings than we have people unemployed in the state of Wisconsin looking for work. That’s why we’re actively recruiting people both within state and beyond, whether it’s at our military bases to bring veterans in, whether it’s folks who went to Wisconsin colleges and universities, or even Midwest millenials,” said Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

Governor Walker also proclaimed September as Workforce Development Month in Wisconsin.
