Animal lovers took a ‘Cause for Paws’ to say thank you

Coulee Region Humane Society hosts fundraiser at Western Technical College

Those at the Coulee Region Humane Society took a “Cause for Paws” on Saturday to say thank you to workers, volunteers and donors.

The “Cause for Paws” event is the biggest fundraiser of the year.

At Western Technical College many gathered, including News 8’s Martha Koloski and Anne Paape, to take part in a dinner and silent auction.

All proceeds go directly to help homeless pets find a forever home.

Not only is it a time of thanks, but it’s also a time to reflect on the past year itself.

“Working at a shelter is so crazy and hectic, so many things happen that it’s just really important to take a pause and realize what we are doing is making a difference,” said Samantha Luhmann with the Coulee Region Humane Society.

If you would like to help the Coulee Region Humane Society, you can donate, volunteer, adopt or even foster a pet. For more details, contact the humane society at 781-4014.
