American Legion Riders District 7 prepares for annual Legacy Run

Motorcyclists have chance to ride for good cause in August Legacy Run

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Motorcyclists can hit the road for a good cause. American Legion Riders District 7 leaders are preparing for its annual Legacy Run.

The ride raises money for Camp American Legion, Freedom Honor Flight, and the American Legion Scholarship Fund. Leaders say the generosity of the community always shows its true colors during this event.

“We’re divvying up thousands of dollars worth of donations from generous companies throughout our region,” said Tim Hyma, vice president of American Legion Riders District 7  “We’re excited to get this going and hopefully get back to the place we were prior to COVID.”

The two-day event starts Saturday, August 14th. Registration at Great River Harley-Davidson starts at 8 a.m. and the run starts at 10. The fundraiser follows on Sunday, August 15th from 2-6 p.m. at Castaways on French Island.
