Alternate side parking begins Saturday in La Crosse
More than 17,000 alternate side parking violations last year
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — It’s that time of year again when parking on the street overnight becomes a little more hectic.
Alternate side parking begins this Saturday morning in La Crosse. That means if it’s an odd number on the calendar you have to park on the odd side of the street and vice versa.
It will be enforced from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. every morning until April first.
If you happen to be on the wrong side street you will be ticketed.
“First and second violation with in the season is $10.The third, fourth and fifth violation go to $20, and then anything at a 6th violation and about is a $40 fine for each violation,” said La Crosse Police Department Sergeant Randy Rank.
Last year in La Crosse police handed out more than 17,000 alternate side parking violations.
