Alliance to Heal launches to fight opioids in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A new effort is underway to combat the opioid crisis in La Crosse County.
The group, currently named the Alliance to Heal, was launched Thursday.
Goals of the group are to limit the supply of opioids, raise awareness of addiction and reduce the number of addicted people and deaths in our community.
With the a national organization assisting the efforts … La Crosse hopes to be a leader in the opioid fight nationally.
“A piece on that is going to be assessing the continuum of care we already have available for those who are struggling with an opioid addiction,” said Jamie Schloegel, Executive Director of the La Crosse Community Foundation.
The La Crosse Community Foundation, La Crosse County Health Department, Gundersen Health System and Mayo Clinic Health System are funding the Alliance.
