Alice in Dairyland encourages Wisconsinites to celebrate June Dairy Month
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – An ambassador for agriculture and die-hard for everything dairy, the 73rd Alice in Dairyland made her way through our area Thursday.
Julia Nunes is spending June Dairy Month traveling the state, highlighting the 7,000 dairy farms that put some of Wisconsin’s finest foods on our tables.
Growing up on a dairy farm, this time of year holds a special place in her heart.
She’s encouraging others to celebrate everything dairy too.
“June is the perfect time for people to get out on dairy farms, see the work that they do, and really recognize how hard farmers are working to produce food products for people around the world,” Nunes said.
She also said the best way you can support Wisconsin’s dairy industry is by purchasing Wisconsin-made products.
You can find them by looking for the “Proudly Wisconsin” badges on the packaging.
In addition, she highly recommends joining in on the fun at a dairy event near you.
