ALERT NIGHT: Chance of Frost in Parts of Area -Bill Graul
Even Colder Temps Tuesday Night into Wednesday Morning
Tonight’s Forecast Low: 41F / Tuesday’s Forecast High: 59F…
Skies will be clear for most of tonight and winds will be on the decrease. The result will be a chilly night with lows in the low 30s to low 40s.
ALERT NIGHT: The coldest readings will be in northern and eastern parts of the viewing area, where a FROST ADVISORY is in effect from 2:00 to 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. Low temps in these areas will likely dip into the low-mid 30s… so you’ll want to protect any sensitive vegetation you want to keep alive. Also, protect outdoor plumbing.
Sunny to partly cloudy on Tuesday and continued cool with highs in the 52-60F range for most. Winds on Tuesday will be from the N/NW around 5-15 mph, with gusts around 20 mph possible.
ALERT NIGHT Tuesday Night: Temps will be even colder Tuesday night into Wednesday morning region-wide. Expect lows in the 30s for most, even mid-upper 20s in traditional colder spots north and east. Expect additional Frost/Freeze Alerts to be issued at that time. Mostly sunny, but still cool Wednesday with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s. Wednesday night will be chilly as well, with more frost possible in some areas.
Looking Ahead… Mostly sunny and a bit warmer Thursday with highs in the upper 60s. Even warmer Friday through the weekend with highs in the 70-76F range in many areas. In fact, it’s looking fantastic for Oktoberfest celebrations in La Crosse… including the big Maple Leaf parade on Saturday.
Still mild to start next week with highs in the low-mid 70s. A cold front will then bring a slight chance of showers and isolated thunder late Monday night or Tuesday… along with cooler highs back in the 60s.
Have a good Monday night! -Meteorologist Bill Graul
