Snow will continue to spread across most of our area today with temperatures dropping throughout the day too.
Low-Pressure System Brings Snow
An Alberta Clipper will move through the upper plains and Midwest today. This system will spawn snow across many locations including us in western Wisconsin today and this evening.
Winter Weather Alerts in Effect
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for areas west of the Mississippi River until 3am Saturday. Plan on slippery road conditions that will impact traveling.

Snow showers will continue to develop and move into the area from the west. A steadier snow is likely to develop and spread across most of our area later this afternoon before tapering off by tonight. Temperatures will be dropping into the teens throughout the day.
Snowfall Accumulations Likely
Good snowfall totals are likely mainly along and west of the Mississippi River today and this evening. Snow totals of 4-6in+ are likely for southeastern Minnesota and northeastern Iowa, 1-3in for the central zones, and up to a coating for the eastern zones. Localized higher amounts of snow are possible.
Next 8 Days
Will see a break in the snow on Saturday, followed by a better chance of snow again on Sunday. Next week will start cloudy with highs in the 30s for Monday and Tuesday, followed by highs dropping to the teens later in the week. Lows in the teens and single digits.
