ALERT DAY – Chance Of Strong To Severe Storms
Monday’s Forecast High: 94°F, Tonight’s Forecast Low: 72°F
Good Monday to you! It was a hot and humid weekend, and we have more of the same today and for at least the next 8 days.
Temperatures have already warmed into the 80s and 90s this afternoon and will top out in the low to mid 90s. However, humidity levels are high, so we could experience heat index values near 100 degrees today! A cool front will bring the potential for showers and thunderstorms after about 3pm, and some of those storms could be strong to severe. Today is an ALERT DAY due to that risk. The main hazards look to be large hail, damaging winds and heavy downpours.
The chance of storms will stick around tonight, mainly early. Otherwise, mild and muggy with lows in the low 70s.
We could see a few showers and thunderstorms Tuesday, but it won’t be a washout by any means. Highs will top out near 90 degrees.
Temperatures will be in the low 90s Wednesday with a pop up afternoon storm possible.
A better chance at some more widespread showers and storms will arrive on Thursday. Highs will be in the upper 80s.
A few storms possible Friday, then, at this point, looking dry for the upcoming weekend. Stay tuned!
Have a great day and stay weather aware! –Michelle Poedel
