ALERT DAY – Afternoon UPDATE On Today’s Wintry Weather
Today’s Forecast High: 36°F, Tonight’s Low: 19°F
The storm system that is headed our way has slowed down a bit in its movement E/NE. This has delayed the onset of precip across our area. The system still looks to move in to the region, but most of us won’t see any snow/mix until after 3pm. However, once the precipitation does move in, travel will be come hazardous quickly. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect, and has now been extended into late tonight. 1″-3″ of snow is still expected for most, but there could be a few isolated higher readings.
The snow will taper off late tonight and winds will pick up out of the northwest. Lows will be in the mid to upper teens.
Winds will remain on the breezy side for Tuesday as colder air build into the Upper Midwest. Highs will be in the low 20s for Tuesday with decreasing clouds.
Plenty of sunshine on the way for midweek, but temps will be cold! Highs on Wednesday and Thursday will only reach the mid to upper teens.
Winds will shift out of the south/southwest again for Friday, and this will begin our warm up into the weekend. Highs on Friday will be in the low 30s with sunny to partly sunny skies. Temperatures will warm into the upper 30s to low 40s for the weekend.
Have a great rest of the day and use caution on the roads this afternoon and tonight! -Michelle Poedel
