Alcohol a factor in fatal early morning crash in La Crosse County
TOWN OF HOLLAND, Wis. (WKBT)– A La Crosse County woman died in a single-vehicle car crash in the town of Holland early Saturday morning. Alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened near W6100 CTH T shortly after 4 a.m. A white Chevrolet Silverado was headed eastbound on CTH T when it crossed the center line. The truck then went off the road and struck two large trees.
The driver, 36-year-old Rhianna R. Arentz, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, 36-year-old Brian A. Wiste, was transported to a nearby hospital by Tri-State Ambulance. He is being treated for serious injuries.
Arentz and Wiste were not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
The Holmen Police and Fire Department, La Crosse County Medical Examiner’s Office and the La Crosse County DA’s Office responded to the incident.
