Airfest is set for this weekend, will close waters north of La Crosse airport

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Waters north of the La Crosse Regional Airport will be closed this weekend during Airfest performances.

Boaters were reminded Thursday that the water just north of the airport will be closed portions of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The only water closures will be north of the Onalaska spillway and east of Nelson Park.

Boaters can expect this area to be closed prior to the start of the airshow at noon through the end of the show (roughly 5 p.m.) all three days. The Black River south of the Onalaska spillway and the Mississippi River will not be affected.

The Fisherman’s Road public access gate will also be closed from Thursday morning until Monday morning restricting access to the Fisherman’s Road boat landings.
