Air quality advisory remains in effect for La Crosse area

The advisory runs through Sunday.

WISCONSIN (WKBT) – An Air Quality Advisory remains in effect for much of Western Wisconsin.

The smoke and haze are coming from wildfires in Canada.

The Wisconsin DNR placed La Crosse, Monroe, Jackson, Trempealeau, Vernon, Pepin and Buffalo Counties under the advisory.

Air is listed as unhealthy for sensitive groups.

That includes children, the elderly, individuals with respiratory and cardiac problems.

It also includes anyone engaged in heavy outdoor activities for long periods of time.

The advisory runs through Sunday.
