AG Kaul: October Drug Take Back Day yields more than 54,000 pounds of unwanted meds

MADISON (WKBT) — Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul announced the official tally for the state’s traditional Drug Take Back Day.

Kaul said over 140 law enforcement agencies helped collect more than 54,000 pounds of unwanted meds.

Drug Take Back Day invites state residents to drop off unused or expired medication at participating law enforcement locations so they can be disposed of safely.

The collected meds will be sent to a business in Indiana for incineration.
