AED on-site at La Crosse Interstate Fair
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) — One piece of equipment was on-site all weekend at the La Crosse Interstate Fair thanks to a loaner program.
For the 12th year Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance loaned an automated external defibrillator or AED, to the first aid staff at the fair through the AED loaner program.
Through the loaner program anyone who hosts a large event can borrow one of the emergency portable defibrillators at no cost from Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.
Wayne Atchley, lead first aid attendant at the fair, said they hope to never have to use the device, but provides a nice sense of security.
“It’s phenomenal to have a resource like this and to have Gundersen Tri-State make it available as a loaner program for events like this is great,” Atchley said.
The AED has only had to be used twice over the 12 years.
