FoodShare is a program aimed at cutting costs of food and groceries for low-income households
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – Families struggling through the pandemic may be able to get some additional help with their next meal.
The public health emergency declared by Governor Evers will enable the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to once again provide additional FoodShare benefits to eligible households.
FoodShare is a program aimed at cutting costs of food and groceries for low-income households.
These benefits will help families with the cost of food for July and August.
The extra benefits provided through the public health emergency for the month of July are available today, and the extra benefits for August will be available in two weeks.
Households will receive a letter notifying them of the additional benefits. Households already receiving the maximum amount will not receive additional benefits. The following is the maximum monthly benefit amount based on the number of people in the household.
