Above Average Temps Again Today – 19th Day In A Row In La Crosse

It was a windy Sunday across the region as a weak disturbance raced by to our north. It produced some light snow showers or flurries in spots Sunday morning, especially north of I-90. It also cranked up the winds into the 30-40 mph range, with some stronger gusts in a few spots. Temps were above average once again. In fact, the high in La Crosse was 43F… marking the 18th day in a row with an above average high temperature.

Peak Wind Gusts On Sunday

Today we will start with plenty of sunshine, then clouds will increase this afternoon. Temps will remain above average with highs in the mid 30s (north) to the low 40s (south). The high in La Crosse will be right around 40F.

A weak disturbance will track by to our south tonight. The result will be cloudy periods, with a slight chance of light snow showers or flurries in spots. Lows tonight will be in the low-mid 20s, perhaps some upper teens far north.

Mix of clouds and sun Tuesday. A cold front will track southeast across the region, causing passing clouds along with a few flurries. Temps will be a bit cooler with highs ranging from the upper 20s (north) to the mid 30s (south). La Crosse will likely see highs in the low 30s. It will also turn breezy again with W/NW winds 10-20 mph and gusts to around 30 mph possible. It will be colder Tuesday night, with many locations dipping into the single digits. Wind chills could slip below zero in some areas.

A Look Ahead Over The Next 8 Days

Looking Ahead… Partly sunny and colder Wednesday with highs in the low-mid 20s. A storm system will bring a chance of rain or rain/snow mix Thursday as temps warm back into the upper 30s to low 40s for highs.

Colder again Friday and Saturday with highs back in the 20s… with a mix of clouds and sun. A couple of disturbances will bring chances for snow in the Sunday through Tuesday time frame. Highs will range from the upper 20s to low-mid 30s.
