About 1,400 meals served during Onalaska and Holmen Community Thanksgiving Dinner
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) -Volunteers in Onalaska made the most of this Thanksgiving, hosting The 10th annual Onalaska and Holmen Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
The free meal was available for pick up from the Onalaska American Legion or by delivery.
Demand was so high, they ran out of meals before it was set to end.
Organizers say they are happy to help the community in anyway they can.
“This year was a little different. We had to do a lot of packaging which we normally do not do. And we normally have volunteers serving on the line, which we did, but a little extra step because of the pandemic,” said Onalaska/Holmen Community Thanksgiving Dinner co-founder Jean Lund.
Volunteers in Onalaska served roughly 1,400 meals.
