‘A Taste of the Garden’ event hosts hundreds of guests in La Crosse

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The Hunger Task Force hosted its annual ‘A Taste of the Garden’ fundraiser Wednesday.

The event included live music and a silent auction.

Attendees also sampled beer, wine, and garden-inspired dishes from local restaurants.

But the event was about more than tasty food.

‘A Taste of the Garden” was one of many fundraisers that keep the Kane Street Garden running.

“Money raised here tonight will help water all the crops, help pay the staff to grow veggies and fruits to give to the community right here on sight free,” said Executive Director of the Hunger Task Force Shelly Fortner.

The Kane Street Garden has fed the La Crosse community since 1998 and produces 30,000 pounds of fresh veggies each year.
